Support for you

Bereavement support

Grief can be lonely and isolating. But HAHAV is here for you. We offer a free bereavment service for adults aged 18 years and over, across Ceredigion. Our trained counsellors and volunteers can offer support in person, over the telephone or on online. This can be in Welsh or English, whichever language you are more comfortable with.

We also run a grief companion service, where clients can be seen in their homes. HAHAV companions can help clients deal with practical tasks such as sorting through clothing or personal possessions. They can also help clients rebuild confidence by attending clubs and local events as well as signposting clients to finance and legal services, to help with paperwork and administration.

When might you need Bereavement support? When you are struggling and feel “stuck” in your grief. We can see clients both with recent losses and more historic ones. Loss is a triggering event, and you may be surprised by unresolved feelings. This is the time to get in touch.

Anticipatory Grief

We also support people who may be grieving before a loss. We can help you understand feelings around anticipatory grief, anger, fear, anxiousness and guilt. Help is available both for people facing their own deaths or those who are supporting someone who is dying.
